Toward the reunification of science

A civilisation requires a founding myth to hold together.In ours, the founding myth takes the form of a hidden axiom: the unity of human nature.To name it is already to expose it. To fracture it is to transgress the hidden civilisational prohibition—the Meta-Taboo. Only by inverting the axiom of human unity can an ontological variable emerge; only through such a variable can a law presumed impossible become isolable, opening the possibility of scientific closure.The price is maximal: human unity may be at once civilisation’s highest moral achievement and the epistemic lock preventing the reunification of science. A constitutive difference may therefore have been continuously recoded as differences of degree, culture, or pathology because humanity had to remain conceptually unified. Culture thereby recodes an intolerable natural fracture within humanity into an epistemic fracture that appears natural. The consequence is written into the structure of knowledge as a paradigmatic anomaly: natural science on one side, the human sciences on the other.
